Luctonians Rugby – A New Force in Herefordshire Rugby

Our first club, Luctonians Rugby (officially Luctonians Sports Club) are based in Kingsland, Herefordshire. The club currently competes in National League 2 West, which is the fourth tier of English rugby, and has a rich heritage as a multi-sport club with something for everyone. With 4 senior men’s teams, a women’s team (the Vixens), Colts, minis and juniors teams and sections.

Founded originally as “Old Luctonians” in 1948, the club has grown through the years, moving to their Mortimer Park ground in the late 1960s, and in the 1980s began to rise through the league system. A community club with over 600 players of all ages training and playing every week, the club has a reputation for both loyalty and quality from grassroots to senior men’s teams.

MowShop are proud to support Luctonians Rugby, and not just as a team, but as a movement to turn community spirit and passion into rugby results.

 

Stockport Rugby – Community-Driven with a Strong History

Stockport Rugby Union Football Club are based in Stockport, Greater Manchester. Stockport RUFC was founded in 1923 (as Davenport R.U.F.C.) and have a long history of community-orientated rugby, and over the years have built a proud reputation as an inclusive club with a strong history, who are now playing in Regional 1 North West (fifth tier).

Stockport have teams for everyone from their four adult male teams, a women’s team, and through the age-group teams and sections for their minis and juniors. In addition to this, they were one of the first clubs in the north of England to open rugby to the visually impaired, and they continue to be an asset to the local community by letting their facilities be used for social events, functions, and more.

At MowShop, we are proud to be working with Stockport Rugby as a club who fully represent our views of how sport should be run.

 

Newport (Salop) Rugby – A Shropshire Pride

Newport (Salop) Rugby Union Football Club are based in The Old Showground near Newport, Shropshire. Newport (Salop) RUFC currently play in Regional 1 North West. The club was founded in 1871, when Tom Collins became the new headmaster of Adams’ Grammar School in Newport, Shropshire and introduced rugby into the area.

The club is based at The Old Showground on Forton Road, where they continue to welcome rugby players from across the local area. Newport (Salop) are able to field multiple senior teams, and continue to run an active fixtures list.

MowShop are proud to be supporting Newport (Salop) Rugby, as a club which has been at the forefront of the sport in Shropshire for years.

 

Stafford Rugby – The County’s Oldest Club

Stafford Rugby Union Football Club was founded in 1876. Stafford RUFC’s first match was on 24 February 1876 against Newport, which they won “by one goal and two tries to one goal.” Since then, the club has been through a number of local grounds, becoming an integral part of the sport in Stafford.

Stafford RUFC have produced notable players, including Samson Egerton, who first joined Stafford at the age of 6, and went on to become a professional rugby player. Stafford continue to work hard to develop future stars, and to give back to the community.
